The Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA), the umbrella body for journalists in Nigeria’s print, electronic, and online media platforms covering the automotive industry, has announced that its annual Training and Capacity-Building Workshop.

It will be held on August 24, 2023, in Lagos.

The yearly training curriculum, which aims to provide motoring journalists with the required reportorial abilities as they pertain to Nigeria’s automotive industry and globally, has two themes for the 2023 edition.

In a statement, NAJA Chairman Mike Ochonma stated that two essential themes have been chosen for the NAJA Training and Capacity Building workshop due to their critical importance to Nigeria’s automotive sector.

“In other to equip our members with the necessary tool, we have as our major theme, Motoring Journalists and Role of New Media in Automotive Reportage. Another crucial theme during the 1-day event is, ‘Natural Gas (CNG, LNG, LPG) as an Alternative amid Fuel Subsidy Removal.

According to him, it is critical for journalists covering the automobile industry to stay up to date on the newest developments in the industry, especially at a time when many Nigerians are looking for alternative fuels following the loss of fuel subsidies.

He stated that the event will bring together essential stakeholders with deep understanding of the auto sector to help educate motoring journalists on necessary reportorial abilities as they pertain to the industry and globally.

Mr. Ochonma also urged industry stakeholders to support this year’s annual event for motoring journalists in Nigeria, which has a huge automotive market.
