Controversies are trailing the placing of N2 million bounty on one Bright Nwinyodee over alleged involvement in criminal activities in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State by the Council’s Chairperson, Thomas Bariere.
Bariere said he placed the bounty on Nwinyodee who is the Coordinator of an organisation known as Ken Saro-Wiwa surveillance group in the local government over his alleged involvement in robbery and kidnapping activities.
Bariere therefore promised a reward of N2 million for anybody who could volunteer information on how arrest him for his alleged criminal activities.
He accused Nwinyodee of being responsible for the armed robberies, kidnappings, and other criminal activities especially around the flyover bridge between Rivers and Akwa-Ibom State.
However, reacting to the allegations, Nwinyodee denied involvement in any criminal activities in the local government area.
He also appealed to the security agencies to profile the activities of his group in the local government area.
Our Correspondent recalls that Nwinyodee was among individuals declared wanted by former Governor Nyesom Wike on radio broadcast some days preceding the 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
