Alleged N1.5m robbery: UNIOSUN student Victory Ahiante suspended

Miss Victory Ehiremen Ahiante, a student of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, who was recently arrested by the police over robbery of her boyfriend of the sum of N1.5 million in Ikire town has been suspended by the institution.

Ahiante had allegedly lured her boyfriend who she met through the social media to Osun State where she conspired with one Ifanla and others to rob him of his phone and transferred over N1.5m out of his account.

While announcing her suspension in Osogbo, the main campus of the institution on Sunday, UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor, Prof Clement Adebooye, said he was shocked by the at the allegation leveled against the 100-level student of the Department of English and Literary Studies

According to him, the behaviour of the student was a deviation from the standards of character and learning expected of students in UNIOSUN.

He added that consequently, the university authorities had decided to place Ahiante on indefinite suspension in line with regulations guiding studentship pending the determination of her case.

The Vice Chancellor also urged other students not to involve themselves in any criminal activities, with warning that the university would not condone such acts.

“As we all know, Osun State University is widely renowned for our commitment to excellence in academics and core values of the responsible, law-abiding, and highly patriotic citizenry. We remain absolutely committed to these ideals,” the UNIOSUN Vice Chancellor said.
