The Director of News of the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, RSBC, Port Harcourt, Mrs Priestba Anthony Nwokocha, has been kidnapped.

The news of her kidnap was broken by the Director of Administration by of the Station, Pastor Ebi Ogoloma.

She was kidnapped between 7pm and 8pm along Slaughter/YKC road, Port Harcourt, on Friday, July 21 on her way from work.

According to family sources, “Her car broke down along that Slaughter/YKC road, she called her husband who later came with a mechanic to work on the car. It was in the presence of her husband and the mechanic that the kidnappers came and picked her up.

“They didn’t pick her husband or harm him, they just picked her and left,”

Meanwhile, Ike Wigodo, the Secretary, Nigeria Union Journalists, NUJ, has called for calm among journalists in the State as the Union has the contacted CP Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka, Commissioner of Police, on the incident and he advised the family to make a preliminary report to the nearest Police Station and that the command knew what to do.

At the time of filing this report, the kidnappers had not contacted the family and her whereabout is unknown.
