Actress Kemi Afolabi has faced backlash over her remarks about government accountability in the tragic death of a young doctor at a Lagos Island hospital.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Afolabi expressed her condolences for the late Dr. Diasco while lamenting the administrative failure that led to the tragic incident.
The doctor was just two weeks away from completing her housemanship when the unfortunate incident occurred.
“RIP to you Dr Diasco💔 if we talk now, they will say we are using our platform to fight the government instead of supporting and praying for them hmmmnnn.
I believe we all know the right thing to do but we choose to ignore until such situation affect or kill somebody! We talk about it for few days..then everyone moves on like nothing happened.
Na who die life finish & end for🥲
May the Almighty console the friends & family of the deceased🙏💔💔💔💔”, Afolabi posted.

According to them, government may not be directly responsible for the faultiness of the hospital’s elevator.
A follower, identified as Funke Oluborode, stated, “Must you attack the government all the time, somebody or group of people is assigned to manage government property and such persons should be held responsible. I believe you are looking for all opportunities to nail the government.”
Another follower, identified as Eshin Raul, stated, “The man or the technician the government paid to repair the lift is a father, a Nigerian like you. There are people assigned to manage the lift they should be hold responsible for it. No be everything government go dey do or fight for us…..Let the person assigned to it be brought to justice and arrested….May God console the family and friends of the deceased.”
