Attacks: Gov. Mutfwang establishes Security and Information Centre

By Martha Agas

The Plateau State Government has established a Security and Information Centre (SIC) to provide the residents access to report security developments in their location.

Gov. Caleb Mutfwang during the inauguration said that the centre would bridge the communication divide between the general public and the government and enable Plateau to address its security challenges.

Since Mutfwang assumes office, more than 300 people have been killed.

Most of the killings were recorded in some communities in Mangu Local Government Area.

However, the centre established by the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) is now adopting a toll free hotline for information sharing.

The centre, which is already operational, will serve as a channel for the government to swiftly obtain early warning signals and intervene promptly.

It would also enable gathering feedback on development matters within the state for appropriate action.
