Algeria has banned the film “Barbie,” for promoting homosexuality and other Western deviances.

The Hollywood blockbuster had been shown at select cinemas in the country for several weeks, according to the local 24H Algerie news site on Monday.

An official source said that the video “promotes homosexuality and other Western deviances” and “does not comply with Algeria’s religious and cultural beliefs.”

Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken, Barbie takes Mattel Inc.’s doll on an adventure in the real world.
