NNPCL GMD Mele Kyari:

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has broken its silence amid growing worry about a likely increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol.

This comes after oil marketers predicted an increase between N680/litre and N720/litre if the dollar continued to trade between N910 and N950 on the parallel market.

However, NNPCL trashed the prediction in a tweet posted around 11:48 p.m. on Monday on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

The tweet read, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPCL Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.

“Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPCL retail stations nationwide,” the company stated.

When asked, NNPCL spokesperson Garba-Deen Muhammad said if the oil company raises petrol prices as predicted by dealers, a notice will be given.
