Actor Chinedu Ikedieze, fondly known as Aki, has recently shed light on the motivations behind his decision to shield his family from the prying eyes of social media.
The 45-year-old acting stalwart opened up during an insightful interview with the prominent media personality Chude Jideonwo.
In a candid discussion, Aki shared that his choice to maintain a discreet profile for his wife and children stems from his deep desire to grant them a sense of unbridled freedom. Despite his celebrity status, he is steadfast in ensuring that his family members can lead their lives without the constant glare of the public spotlight.
Aki spoke further, “I have children but I decided to put them aside because I’m the celebrity, they are not. I just want them to be free because the moment everybody gets to know them, it would affect them. And I don’t want that.” His intention to safeguard his loved ones from the potential ramifications of undue attention is evident in his efforts to shield them from the omnipresent reach of social media.
The actor, famous for his endearing roles, especially his memorable character Aki, shared that he has chosen to withhold even his wife’s identity from the public, except for the announcement of their wedding in 2011. He believes that by preserving this veil of privacy, his wife can navigate her everyday life without being ensnared in the trappings of fame.
