Two Israelis killed in West Bank shooting attack
Two Israeli civilians were murdered in a shooting attack in the village of Huwara, near the West Bank city of Nablus, on Saturday.
Magen David Adom, the spokesperson of Israel’s emergency response agency, confirmed this on Sunday.
He claimed its medics conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation on two men in their 30s and 60s who were injured by gunfire.
They were both declared dead immediately after arriving at the site.
The incident occurred in a carwash in Huwara, according to the online newspaper The Times of Israel.
According to an Israeli Defence Forces statement, soldiers are currently chasing the suspects and have established blockades in the region.
Violence between Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank, a territory occupied by Israel during the 1967 Middle East War, has increased in the last 16 months, spurred by frequent, lethal Israeli operations.
