Arsenal legend, Thierry Daniel Henry has been appointed head coach of France’s under-21 team until 2025.

The French Football Federation announced this on Monday, noting that former Angers manager Gerald Baticle will join Henry as an assistant coach.

Henry will make his Under-21 coaching debut against Denmark on September 7, before France takes on Slovenia in Euro qualifying four days later.

He will head the team at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, succeeding Sylvain Ripoll, who was fired following France’s early exit from this year’s European Under-21s.

In 2014, Henry retired as Arsenal’s all-time leading scorer (228 goals) and with 123 caps and 51 goals for France.
