Dr. Olusegun Bamidele Oso has been recognised as one of the top three recipients of the WATEF Impact Leadership Award 2023 following the conclusion of the WATEF International Innovation Awards.

Selected from a competitive pool of fifteen nominees, his recognition reflects a career built at the intersection of healthcare delivery, financial strategy, and long-term institutional development across West Africa.

According to the organisers, Dr. Oso’s career stands out for its clarity of purpose and system-level influence, shaped by a rare combination of clinical training, financial expertise, and strategic leadership.

Dr. Oso began his professional journey in clinical medicine after completing his training at the University of Ibadan. A major milestone in his career was the co-founding of the Nigeria Healthcare Development Fund. The fund was established in response to persistent gaps in healthcare financing and infrastructure, gaps that became more visible during global health emergencies. Designed as a bridge between credible healthcare operators and institutional investors, the platform supports hospitals, clinics, diagnostic providers, and allied health services seeking patient capital to scale responsibly.

Beyond executive roles, Dr. Oso serves on boards across insurance, technology, leasing, and healthcare-related institutions. He is also active in academic and knowledge development circles, serving as a section editor, editorial board member, and peer reviewer for international journals in management, finance, economics, and medical science.
