Mass shooting in Florida Store leaves four dead

A gunman in ballistic vest opened fire on shoppers inside Florida General Store on Saturday, with four people said to have killed during the shooting.

The gunman was said to be among the four people dead after the police engaged him in gun-battle.

News4jax quoted Mayor Donna Deegan as confirming on Saturday that there are a “number of fatalities” in response to the shooting on Kings Road near Canal Street in Northwest Jacksonville and also said that the man was barricaded in a Dollar General.

Multiple sources had it that  that the suspected shooter went behind the EWU library after being spotted putting on a ballistics vest.

Deegan was spotted at the scene talking with officials and District 13 State Representative Angie Nixon, who represents the neighborhood.

A witness, who was moments from walking into the store, said the only thing that kept him from entering the Dollar General was when he realized he did not have any money on him, so he went to another store nearby, said News4jax.
