Comrade Awa Bamiji loses mother

Foremost June 12 Activist and National Coordinator of the Coalition of Pro-Democracy Groups For Better Nigeria, Comrade Awa Bamiji has lost his mother, Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji, at the ripe age of 98.

Madam Oyebamiji passed away at about 6 pm on Monday 28 August 2023 in Ibadan.

The news of her demise was broken by the popular pro-democracy activist in a press statement released shortly after Mama’s death.

“With heavy hearts but in total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the passing away of our caring mother, Grandmother, Madam Rafatu Agbeke Oyebamiji, who passed on this evening, Monday, 28/08/2023, around 6 pm, at the age of 98 years,” Awa Bamiji announced in the statement.

Mama has been buried today in accordance with Islamic rites at the Family House on Ade Adebalogun Street, along Olomi/Aba Alfa Road, Olomi, Akorode LCDA, Ibadan, Oyo State.

“The 8th day Fidau Prayer will take place at Alhaji Sarafa Akinola House, Beside Jinanrere Church, Jinanrere Bus/Stop, Alakia/Isebo Road, Iyana Church, Iwo Road, Ibadan, by 10 am prompt.

“Our father, Oyebamiji Oyelere, a disciplinarian of uncommon dimension, died, Monday 24 January 2004,” Awa Bamiji added.

He prayed for his beloved mother to rest in peace.
