Breaking: Erling Haaland is UEFA Men's player of the year

The Manchester City forward, Erling Haaland has been named the UEFA Men’s player of the year.

He defeated Lionel Messi and Kelvin De Bruyne to clinch the award for the first time after a wonderful display last season.

Haaland won the champions league, Premier League and FA Cup with Manchester City last season.

The Norway striker finished with 52 goals in 53 games as City won the Treble.

Haaland also won the PFA player of the year earlier in the week and now won this after a sublime first season in England.

He was announced winner of the award in Monaco at the champions league group stage draw on Thursday.

When asked, Haaland revealed he liked  it when Pep Guardiola shouts at him,

Aitana Bonmati wins UEFA Women player of the year award

The UEFA Women’s player of the year went to Aitana Bonmati who is Barcelona and Spain midfielder, She had a superb season, including winning the Women’s World Cup with Spain.

Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City won the UEFA’s Men coach of the year award after winning the Champions League and the Treble last season. The award is for the 2022-23 season.

England’s Women coach, Sarina Wiegman, was named UEFA’s Women coach of the year. She won the award after guiding her side to the final of the Women’s World Cup and winning the Finalissima against Brazil at Wembley.
