Ice Prince Zamani, the Nigerian rapper and singer, has revealed that Wizkid and Burna Boy envisioned their musical achievements several years back.
He said Wizkid told him he was going to achieve everything he has now achieved musically ten years ago.
The one-time BET Best African Act of the Year winner said he is one of those who watched the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy grow in the music industry.
The Super Cool Cat boss stated this while appearing in the latest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by British-Nigerian media personality, Adesope Olajide, aka Shopsydoo.
Ice Prince recounted that Wizkid had confided in him approximately a decade ago, expressing his determination to accomplish everything he has since achieved in the music industry.
At that time, Ice Prince admitted he might have had doubts, but today, he stood in awe of how Wizkid’s prophetic aspirations had materialized.
Moreover, Ice Prince highlighted his close relationship with Burna Boy, during which the Grammy-winning artiste had similarly outlined his ambitious plans for the future.
Ice Prince described these moments as “prophesying” because the path to their achievements wasn’t clear at the time. However, he expressed amazement and pride in witnessing these dreams transform into reality.
He said, “When I see what Afrobeats is achieving right now, it’s just like a dream come true. And not everybody will do it at the same time. But with God and with consistency, we all can do it. I remember Wizkid telling me he was going to do all these things like 10 years ago. And at that time, I could have been looking at him like, Nah, you’re crazy.
“But look, it played out to be what it is. I have seen Burna Boy tell me, Yo, I’m gonna do this. I’m gonna do that. And at that time, it was prophesying, not even sure how it was going to happen. So, to see it happening now, it was like wow, wow, wow! Dreams do come true. I’m super proud of these guys. I’m one of those people who can tell you I watched these guys grow up”.
