At 19, Coco Gauff is the second American teenager to record the feat after Serena Williams.

American teenager Coco Gauff ended Caroline Wozniacki’s comeback at the U.S. Open Sunday, beating her in three sets 6-3 3-6 6-1.

With the victory, Coco Gauff advanced to her second straight quarterfinal at the tournament.

At 19, she is the second American teenager to record the feat after Serena Williams.

Her clash with Wozniacki, 33, and a former world number one, was a clash of generations.

Coco Gauff said before the match in New York: “I never thought I would ever be in this position, especially after she retired and came back. She’s still a really fit player,”

“It’s not going to be an easy match. She probably knows my game pretty well. I know she’s watched tennis when she was retired.

“I know a little bit of her just from watching her growing up. It’s going to be really cool. I’m excited. Playing a legend like her is really exciting.”
