Kourtney Kardashian has confirmed recent speculations regarding her hospitalization, attributing it to complications with her pregnancy.
The prominent socialite took to Instagram on September 6, 2023, to share that she had undergone fetal surgery, expressing deep gratitude to her medical team for saving her unborn son’s life.
In her Instagram post, she shared a poignant black-and-white photo of herself in a hospital bed, tightly holding her husband’s hand. In her caption, Kardashian thanked her husband, Travis Barker, for swiftly coming to her side and her mother, Kris Jenner, for her unwavering support during the surgery.
She wrote: “I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterward—my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this.”
As a mother of three, she shared her newfound understanding of the challenges that many expectant mothers face.
Given her previous pregnancies’ ease, she acknowledged that the fear of potentially losing her child was an unfamiliar and distressing experience. She also reassured her followers that her unborn child is now safe in utero, and she is in good health.
Kardashian reflected on her experience, saying, “Having had three trouble-free pregnancies in the past, I was unprepared for the anxiety of needing urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can truly comprehend that overwhelming fear. I now have a profound respect and empathy for mothers who have had to fight for their babies’ well-being during pregnancy. Thank God, walking out of the hospital with my baby boy safe in my womb was the greatest blessing.”
The 44-year-old reality star and her husband had announced the pregnancy in June 2023 during one of Blink-182’s performances in the United States.
The announcement was met with excitement from their fans, as the couple had previously been open about their challenges with conceiving, as documented on their reality show.
