The birth of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s second child, whom they’ve named “Riot Rose Mayers,” has sparked a range of reactions from the public.
This unique name has prompted diverse opinions on social media.
Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, welcomed their second child on August 1 and have named him ‘Riot Rose Mayers’.
The couple are also parents to son, RZA Athelston Mayers, born in 2022 and named after legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper, RZA
One Twitter user, ‘provii8’, jokingly remarked, “Naming Rihanna’s second son Riot is all fun and games until he becomes a leader of protests in college.”
Another user, ‘damiadenuga’, humorously suggested, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky naming their son Riot, or Idamu Adugbo, seems like they were influenced by Portable,”referring to the popular Nigerian musician.
‘Hantibedavid’ tweeted, “Given nine months to choose a name for their baby boy, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky went with Riot?” expressing surprise at the unconventional choice.
‘Amblue_jay’ made a comparison, stating, “Rihanna named her son Riot, yet people continue to mock Zimbabwean names.”
‘Mbahdeyforyou’ playfully predicted, “Now that they’ve named him Riot, their next child might be named Protest.” However, ‘Raylex04’ appreciated the name “Riot” and expressed confidence that the child would achieve success despite the unconventional name.
‘Ovo_himself449’ contrasted this with the challenges some individuals face in Nigeria due to their names, humorously remarking: “Abroad, people have names like Stone, Bucket, and Riot, and they succeed in life, while here in Nigeria, someone named Success struggles with JAMB exams four times.
