Agency report

Suspended Juventus player Paul Pogba has reportedly admitted to consuming dietary supplements linked to his ongoing doping issue.

Tuttosport and La Gazzetta dello Sport have both reported on Pogba’s possible involvement with a vitamin integrator taken during his summer vacation in the United States.

Notably, reports claim that the supplement in question had explicit warnings about potential dangers.

According to reports, the supplement was initially recommended to Pogba by a medical practitioner close to his family, though not linked with Juventus. It should be noted that while these exact food supplements are widely available in the United States, they are not approved for use in Italy.

Furthermore, La Gazzetta previously reported that Pogba did not consult with Juventus prior to incorporating the supplement into his regimen, a significant oversight that could result in his departure from the club if further analyses confirm the initial findings.

Pogba may face a four-year penalty if found guilty of doping, not to mention criminal proceedings in Italy, where drug doping is a crime.

Rafaela Pimenta, Pogba’s representative, told Sky Sports News, “We are waiting for the counter-analysis, and until then we can’t say anything. The certain thing is that Paul Pogba never wanted to break the rules.”

Challenges have riddled Pogba’s tenure with Juventus since he joined the club in July 2022 after leaving Manchester United as a free agent.

Injuries and personal concerns have slowed his return to form, with the 2018 World Cup winner making only two substitute appearances for Juventus this season.

He appeared only six times in Serie A last season, highlighting the difficult situation he is presently experiencing.
