Rivers State Police Command has gunned down four members of the most wanted Cult kingpin Gift David Okpara, aka 2Baba who killed SP Bako Angbashim.

The four members were gunned down on 10th September when Police engaged them in a gun duel in their hideout at Odemude community in Ahoad-East Local Government area.

Also, the Rivers State Police Command has paraded seven police officers for alleged professional misconduct ranging from extortion and abuse of human rights.

Parading the Police Officers at the command’s headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, the Commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Polycarp Emeka said crime and criminality knew no status, whether police or civilian.

Emeka said investigation was ongoing and that the police would not cover anybody.

He, however, cautioned against going on social media to blackmail police, saying that any human rights abuse should first be reported to the police command and not the social media.

Emeka disclosed that the Inspector General of Police and other top police chiefs never sent any police officer to commit a crime.

He advised police personnel to live beyond the normal standard of discipline, adding that when the investigation is completed, the necessary disciplinary procedure would follow in the case.

Meanwhile, Peter Chukwu, the lawyer to the social media influencer, commended the CP for the arrest and urged him to continue with the investigation and do the needful.

Emeka also announced that the police officer who shot dead Alafuro Peterside at point-blank range in the presence of his family in Port Harcourt has been dismissed from the police force and would be charged in court soon for murder.

Emeka further disclosed that the Command’s Strike Force last week Sunday, arrested two male suspects, Chibuike Irona and Michael Ibe in a black Toyota Camry at Igwuruta, Ikwerre Local Government Area, and recovered three locally made pistols.
