Nollywood actress and film producer, Funke Akindele has cautioned the public to be careful of what they say in the guise of consoling people mourning their loved ones.
The actress, a post of her Instagram page which was not directed to anyone in particular, stressed the need to to considerate and empathetic during such sensitive times.
Akindele urged people to exercise caution in their choice of words when interacting with individuals who are grieving, emphasizing the need for kindness and understanding.
She added that those who cannot offer words of comfort and be compassionate, should remain silent.
In her message, she wrote, “Pls be watchful of what you say when people are mourning. If you cannot be kind pls keep Quiet. May the Lord comfort those mourning. Amen. I’ve been there, it’s a terrible feeling to mourn. Pls, be kind. Show love and support to those mourning in any way you can and be watchful of what you say.#RIPMohbad.
May God comfort his family and loved ones!”, Akindele posted.
