Local Government Pensioners Association of Nigeria (LOGPAN). Ogun State chapter has backed Governor Dapo Abiodun on the issue of the diversion of Federal Government Funds allocated to Local governments.

LOGPAN, through its state chairman, Pastor Benedict Ademoye maintained that the allegations filed against the state governor, by the impeached Ijebu-East local government chairman, Wale Adedayo regarding the local government allocation were false.

Ademoye, who is also a member of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) in the state, while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, revealed that such an allegation was not the first in the history of Ogun State since the civilian government.

He said that this kind of issue is always from a single local government, whereas it is not the fault of both past and present administrations.

Ademoye added that the system Ogun is using is what other states are using across the nation, saying that state governments mostly augment the local government allocations.

He also highlighted how the Local governments were operating during the military government but that the system was later changed due to the ability to pay workers and pensioners.

On the issue regarding the gratuity of pensioners, he said the state government truly disbursed N1bn for pensioners in March 2023 and August but that they are still owing in June and September.
