Mabel, the wife of comedian and entrepreneur, AY Makun, has expressed her regrets over a missed chance to be a  friend to late musician, Mohbad.

Mabel expressed her regrets while revealing that she discovered that her husband had received a direct message (DM) from Mohbad that had gone unnoticed.

Mabel Makun‘s revelation attracted criticisms, as netizens questioned the relevance of her revelation and its timing following Mohbad’s tragic passing.

Just a week ago, emerging singer,  Oxlade had found himself in a similar situation.

Oxlade drew anger of netizens after sharing a screenshot of a message he had received from Mohbad back in 2018.

In the message, Mohbad praised Oxlade’s singing talent, describing his voice as extraordinary and expressing admiration. Unfortunately, Oxlade said he did not respond to the message and, to make matters worse, he had restricted interaction of Mohbad’s account with his own.

Netizens who reacted  to Oxlade‘s post slammed him  what they perceived as insincere behaviors now prevalent in the entertainment industry.

Yet, analysts said  the incident underscores the challenges that celebrities encounter in their online interactions with netizens and the expectations associated with their fame.

Rema also found himself in a similar situation about a week ago when he shared a screenshot of a message he had received from Mohbad in 2020.

In the message, Mohbad had expressed deep admiration for Rema’s song “Peace Of Mind.” Rema admitted that he had not seen the message until  Mohbad’s passing.

Rema’s revelation drew attention from Didi Ekanem, who pointed out that the wave making Afrobeat star did not ignored direct messages from American singer and actress Selena Gomez with whom he recorded a version of his hit song, ‘Calm Down’, but had unintentionally overlooked Mohbad’s message.
