The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho, Oyo State has confirmed the death of some final year studentS of Accounting of the institution in a road crash in Osun State.
The students of were reportedly returning from an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall when their bus caught fire on Wednesday evening around Ilobu-Okinni-Osogbo road in Osun State.
While confirming the tragic incident, LAUTECH’s spokesperson, Lekan Fadeyi, said the number of students who died in the accident cannot be confirmed yet.
He added that he is waiting for information on the number of students involved and their identities.
“I can confirm to you that there was an accident while some students passed on but I have not gotten the details of their identities,” Tribune quoted the LAUTECH spokesperson as saying.
LAUTECH Students’ Union President, Anuoluwa Adeboye, also confirmed the incident.
