Criminals believed to be working for Simon Ekpa, self-styled prime minister of Biafra land, have unleashed terror in Ebonyi.
The criminals attacked people in Ezzamgbo, hometown of Ekpa.
Ekpa, who is based in Finland, had earlier banned celebration of Independence Day across the South East.
In an attempt to force a sit-at-home on Monday, Ekpa’s terrorists attacked traders and set vehicles ablaze at the popular Ezzamgbo Junction along the Abakiliki-Enugu highway in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
They burnt three commuter buses, four motorcycles and one tricycle.
SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, Spokesperson of the Ebonyi Police Command, confirmed the attack.
She also confirmed that no life was lost during the attack.
Onovwakpoyeya said: “They burnt down three commuter buses, four motorcycles and one tricycle. No life was lost.”
The Command Spokesperson noted that the operatives of the Command have been dispatched to the scene of the incident to fish out the perpetrators.
“And we believe that before the end of the day, the perpetrators will be apprehended,” she added.
