The Israeli death toll from the Hamas militant group’s massive attack rises to more than 250, The Times of Israel reported, quoting Hebrew-language media.
The toll is expected to continue to rise, medical officials said, according to the update.
At least 1,450 have been wounded, many seriously.
Dozens of civilians as well as IDF soldiers are believed to have been abducted and brought into Gaza.
The IDF has confirmed that soldiers and civilians have been taken hostage, but has not specified a number.
Thousands of rockets have been fired at the south and centre of the country, killing a number of people.
