In response to media inquiries following a press conference by the Lagos State Police Command, where they claimed not to have received a response from the NDLEA regarding social media allegations concerning the arrest and detention of the late artist Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, also known as MohBad, the NDLEA has countered this claim.

According to a statement by Mr. Femi Babafemi, the Agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, the NDLEA asserts that its formal response was indeed sent and received by the police on Thursday, September 28, 2023.

The NDLEA’s response, titled “Re: Investigation activities Re: Case of the suspected murder of one Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (aka Mohbad) ‘M’ aged 27 years,” was signed by Josephine Ruth Obi, the Deputy Commander-General of Narcotics (DCGN) and Director of Prosecution and Legal Services. The response carried the reference number NDLEA/DPLS/3/A/Vol.1/32 and was addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Nigeria Police Force’s State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba, Lagos State.

Furthermore, the NDLEA refuted claims that MohBad was given any substance to drink during the alleged detention.
