In the wake of a new reign at the helm of policing in Nigeria, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, a staunch advocate of community policing, laid much emphasis on effective community policing as a panacea for insecurity in the country.

According to him, it’s the most effective way to protect lives and properties, thereby leading to the positive growth and development of the country.

In furtherance of this, the Department of Training and Development of the Nigeria Police Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja, has partnered with a private security consulting firm, Galaxy Promotions to bring community policing awareness to the regions.

In its usual pursuit of effective community policing, the Corps Commander of the Osun State Security Network Agency, Operation Amotekun, Brigadier General Basir Abiodun Adewimbi (Retd.), thought it very necessary to register some of the Osun Amotekun operatives to attend the one-day zonal security workshop on community-oriented policing.

Gen. Adewimbi extolled the office of the IGP, the Department of Training and Development of the Nigeria Police Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja and the partnering consultant for organizing such a laudable programme.
