The Super Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn to face host Cote D’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau in Group A of the 2024 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

The Super Eagles have played Cote D’Ivoire 27 times since 1967, with Nigeria winning eight times and Cote D’Ivoire nine times. The two countries have drawn 10 games.

The last time Nigeria played Cote D’Ivoire was in 2015 in an International friendly with Cote D’Ivoire running away with a lone goal victory.

In Group B, Egypt will play Ghana, Cape Verde and Mozambique, while defending champions Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea and The Gambia will lock horn in Group C.

In Group D, Algeria will play Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola, while Tunisia, Mali, South Africa and Namibia in Group E. Group E appears to be the ‘Group of Death,’ playing host to three powerhouse in football.

Group F will seek Morocco, DR Congo, Zambia and Tanzania locking horns.

The first two teams in each group will qualify automatically for the knockout stage along with four best losers in the groups.
