Nigeria police commences recruitment: How to join

The Nigeria Police Force has announced that it will open the portal for the recruitment of qualified individuals into the rank of constables in the general duty and specialist cadres today, Sunday, 15 October 2023.

The portal will be open for submission of applications to join the police for six weeks from 15th October to 26th November 2023, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Police said in a statement on Saturday.

To apply to join the police, applicants are required to complete the online application forms and submit them within the specified period via www.apply.policerecruitment.gov.ng

However, to qualify to apply to join the police, applicants must be of Nigerian origin by birth. They must possess the National Identification Number (NIN) with a minimum of 5 credits in not more than 2 sittings in WAEC/NECO or its equivalent with credit passes in English and Mathematics.

Those applying to be recruited for general duty must be between 18-25 years in age while 18-28 years age range is specified for those who want to join the police as Specialists.

In addition, applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and must not be less than 1.67m tall for males and 1.64m tall for females, with not less than 86cm (34 inches) expanded chest measurement (for males only).

They must also be free from any financial embarrassment and not convicted of any criminal offence.
