Kenyan-Canadian actress Lupita Nyong’o and TV host Selema Masekela have ended their romantic relationship.
The breakup, which comes less than a year after they made their relationship official, was confirmed by the “Black Panther” star via her Instagram account.
In Lupita‘s post, the 40-year-old actress cited “deception” as the reason behind their separation, describing the pain of having a once-promising love shattered by dishonesty.
Lupita‘s lengthy Instagram post read, inter alia: “It is necessary for me to share a personal truth and publicly dissociate myself from someone I can no longer trust.
“I find myself in a season of heartbreak because of a love suddenly and devastatingly extinguished by deception.”
