Harry Kane admitted his audacious strike from his own half in Bayern Munich’s 8-0 win over Darmstadt was one of his best ever.

The England striker noticed the keeper off his line and executed a perfect shot from distance which led to comparisons with compatriots David Beckham and Wayne Rooney.

It was the second goal of a superb hat-trick for Kane, who took to social media after the game.

He said: “It was obviously one of the better goals that I’ve scored in my career so far.

“I got the ball on the half turn and I’d seen the keeper off his line throughout the first half.

“I’m always looking for every game and of course I’ve tried to score from the halfway line a few times in my career, but this one just came off perfectly.

“Special afternoon, especially to finish off with the hat trick as well. So yeah, we keep going for next week.”
