Nigerian female rap artiste Eva Alordiah has openly discussed the reasons for her departure from the music industry.

She revealed that she left the industry due to her struggle with depression during her time as a musician.

In a post on her verified X page, formerly known as Twitter, she shared her story, saying, “A few years ago I walked away from a seemingly “successful” music career. I was burnt out. Depression had taken an almost permanent seat beside me.”

Alordiah went on to describe her challenging financial situation at the time, with just enough money to cover her next meal.

She humorously remarked that if there were an image for the term “Starving Artist,” it would have been her own face. She recalled a pivotal moment when she said, ““Fuck it! I got myself here, I’m gonna get myself out.

“My bank balance was just enough to buy my next meal. If there was a picture of the phrase “Starving Artist”, it would have been my damn face. One day, I said “Fuck it! I got myself here, I’m gonna get myself out.”
