A video has emerged, showcasing the Director-General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, shining with her dance skills at the wedding celebration of her eldest son, Dr. Uzo Iweala.
Dr. Iweala exchanged vows with his partner, Lotte Elsa, in Heidelberg, Germany, on Sunday.
In the video, Okonjo-Iweala is seen joyfully dancing to a variety of Nigerian music alongside her new daughter-in-law.
Njide Udochi, the groom’s aunt, shared videos from the event on her Facebook page on the same Sunday.
She wrote in part, “As Nigerians and members of the Igbo community, we consider a marriage incomplete until we commemorate our traditional marriage customs, known as Igba Nkwu Nwanyi. Hence, in Heidelberg, Germany, we celebrated their union.
The support of a community is vital, and Uzo and Lotte were blessed to have their community present to honor and rejoice in their love. Another day of celebrating love, honoring traditions, and uniting as a community. We are immensely grateful to all our extended family and friends who traveled from various parts of the world to honor our family and uphold our traditions today.
Congratulations to the entire Iweala family and Ndi Umuda Isingwu, as well as the Goos family of Heidelberg, Germany. To our newlyweds, Uzodinma Iweala and Lotte Elsa, we wish you an enduring, genuine happiness together. We love you both!”
