The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has deployed its officers to Kogi to monitor the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 2023.

EFCC’s spokesman Dele Oyewale, who confirmed the development, noted that the mobilization was necessary in order to checkmate electoral fraud and associated financial crimes.

Oyewale added that monitoring team will also be sent to Bayelsa and Imo States.

The spokesman said: “The Commission’s monitoring operations are to tackle any form of voter’s inducement through vote buying, vote selling and other manipulation of the electoral processes at variance with the Electoral Act.”
