Chelsea hold Man. City in 8-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea have held Manchester City to a 4-4 draw at the Stamford Bridge stadium in an explosive thriller on Sunday.

City opened scoring midway into the first half from the penalty spot. Erling Haaland sent the penalty kick low into the left of the net.

Chelsea equalised four minutes later. Conor Gallagher launched the corner kick and superbly found the head of Thiago Silva, whose accurate effort from near the penalty spot went straight into the left side of the goal.

The homers took the lead again on 37 minutes. Raheem Sterling collected a pass inside the box and netted with a perfect low drive into the middle of the goal.

On first half added time, Bernardo Silva clipped a neat ball into the box in the direction of Manuel Akanji, who jumped highest and steered a bullet header from the centre of the box into the left side of the goal to make it 2-2 going into the break.

Two minutes after the break, Julian Alvarez produced a pass and picked out Haaland inside the box. He quickly took a shot which went into the middle of the net and left the goalkeeper helpless to make it 2-3.

Nicolas Jackson equalised for Chelsea as he fired the rebound low into the middle of the goal after the ball broke to him in the box.

Four minutes to duration, Rodri tried his luck from the edge of the box and his shot took a deflection and went past the stranded Robert Sanchez to make it 3-4 for the visitors.

Cole Palmer equalised for Chelsea from the penalty spot. He put the ball into the top left corner past the outstretched arm of Ederson.
