A local government collation officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in the ongoing gubernatorial election in Imo state, Dr Bolaji Olaleye, on Sunday declared a female Youth Corps member missing.

Olaleye while presenting the result for Mbaitolu Local Government, disclosed that the unnamed Corps member who served as a-dhoc worker, got missing with the BVAS and result sheets in her possession.

He said the youth corps member did not answer several call, thereby heightening fear that something bad might have happened to her.

Speaking further to journalists, Olaleye said: “I don’t know what happened to the female Corps member, but we couldn’t locate the BVAS and results sheets in her possession, which led to the cancellation of election in ward three polling units.”

When a journalist put a call through to a number given by Olaleye, a female answered and ended it as soon as she was asked where she was or whether she was okay.

When the journalist repeat the call immediately, the phone was switched off, but True caller gave the name of the owner of the number as Mmesoma Maryann.
