Kogi election: APC's Ododo thrashes Dino Melaye at home

Dino Melaye, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP lost in his Ijumu local government area to his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress, APC Ahmed Usman Ododo as the declaration of results for yesterday’s Kogi government election continues.

The result announced at the Collation Centre in Lokoja indicated that Melaye scored 6,909 votes, the second-highest tally of ballots in the local government.

However, Ododo has the highest number of votes as he scored 10, 524 votes in Ijumu local government.

Melaye had on Saturday refused to show up to vote at his Polling Unit 04, Iluafon Quarters, Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State until the voting ended to the disappointment of members of PDP and supporters who were at the polling centre waiting for him

He has refused to give any reason for his failure to participate in the election in which he was regarded as one of the front-line candidates.
