An irate driver has crushed two street sweepers from the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to death on Gbagada expressway, leading to a skirmish in the area.

The driver was said to be evading arrest from the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA) officers when he ran into the two street sweepers around Charly Boy Bus stop, Gbagada expressway on Monday.

The incident led to a protest in the area, with hoodlums hijacking it. There was massive gridlock on the expressway for over an hour as hoodlums blocked the expressway and refused anyone to move.

Protesters accused officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) of chasing the driver who crushed the LAWMA workers to death.
