American rapper and businessman Snoop Dogg has announced that he has decided to give up smoking weed.

The 52-year-old rapper, arguably hip-hop’s most famed smoker, announced that he is ‘giving up smoke’ for family reasons.

Taking to X (Twitter) today, Snoop said:“After much consideration & conversation with my family, I’ve decided to give up smoke. Please respect my privacy at this time.”

The post’s caption also read, “I’m giving up smoke.”

While some think his announcement was a joke, others genuinely believe he is giving up weed for good.

His announcement could also be set up for a rollout; he has been teasing an album called Missionary — a follow-up to his star-making debut Doggystyle — for some time.

The Death Row Records owner is not only universally known for hard bars – but, equally – his hard blunts.

Last November, Snoop publicly accused Renegade Piranha of lying about his weed consumption.

Piranha – a professional roller – allegedly said that Snoop smokes the equivalent of 75-100 blunts per day.

However, she later insisted she had never made such a comment.
