Mr. Joseph Aloba, the father of late Afrobeat star, Mohbad has disagreed with the decision to move his son’s body for a burial without his involvement and conduct of the DNA test on the son of the deceased musician.

Some celebrities, including Bella Shmurda and Tonto Dikeh, had proposed removing the singer’s body from the mortuary for burial in order to give him a respectful farewell.

The idea emerged two months after the police had exhumed Mohbad for an investigation.

In response, Mohbad’s father condemned the move.

He said the decision to bury Mohbad should not be executed without his consent.

Emphasizing the importance of confirming paternity of the late musician’s son, Aloba reiterated the need to obtain bodily samples from his deceased son for a DNA test.

In his statement, he expressed,

I’ve been hearing maybe some people want to go and carry Mohbad’s body. When this boy was alive, he was my son, now that he’s gone, he still retains my name. Nobody should go and carry Mohbad’s body from there. If there’s anything you want to do, I should be the one to authorize it. Let’s get justice for Mohbad; after burial wetin remain? Let justice prevail first; the DNA is necessary.”
