Delta State Police nab fraudster impersonating top government officials

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended one Samsom Ibiloma for impersonating Dr. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the State Government, and various other high-ranking government officials.

DSP Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer, revealed this information in a statement released on Tuesday in Asaba.

Edafe mentioned, “Sequel to a series of complaints received from multiple victims on a suspected fraudster impersonating the Secretary to State Government of Delta State, the Command swung into action and arrested one Samsom Ibiloma, a member of the syndicate who specializes in impersonating top government officials”.

Edafe said the suspect confessed to impersonating government officials and admitted he had so far defrauded his victims over N10 million .

According to the PPRO, the suspect also confessed that the leader of the syndicate and mastermind of the impersonation plot is one Stephen Odeemero.

He elaborated, “This syndicate has been operating under the alias of Hon. Kingsley Emu, the Secretary to the Delta State Government, and defrauding unsuspecting victims seeking for jobs of millions of naira.

“CP Wale Abass, the Delta State Police Commissioner, deployed operatives from the Command’s DECOY Squad, instructing a thorough investigation, ” Edafe continued. “The Delta State Police Commissioner, CP Wale Abass, detailed operatives of the Command’s DECOY Squad, and directed that efforts be put into ensuring a meticulous investigation into the matter.

Edafe disclosed, “The Commander CP-DECOY, ASP Julius Robinson, generated intelligence and stormed Walter Odili Area by Enerhen Junction in Warri and arrested Samsom Ibiloma, 52, a native of Dekina LGA of Kogi State, who resides in Warri.”

The Commissioner of Police urged individuals who had fallen prey to their fraudulent schemes to approach the command’s headquarters or the PPRO office for assistance.
