Nigerian musician Adedamola Adefolahan also known as Fireboy DML, has revealed the reason behind his relatively low-key musical presence in 2023.

Following his remarkable global success between 2021 and 2022, notably propelled by his chart-topping track ‘Peru’ and a remix featuring British star Ed Sheeran, Fireboy discussed his deliberate quieter approach this year.

In a recent interview with Wat And Ers, Fireboy expressed that 2023 has been a pivotal period of learning and personal growth, both artistically and individually.

“This year is one of those years where it’s necessary for artiste to grow and step down from all the craziness. 2023 has been a year of learning and growth for me as a person and as an artist”.

Reflecting on the journey, he emphasized the significance of recognizing oneself beyond the artist persona. “Sometimes, it’s okay to step out from being an artiste and just realise that you’re human as well”.
