The Israel Prison Service says 39 Palestinians have been released under the hostage agreement, which earlier saw 13 Israeli hostages and four Thai nationals released from Gaza.
Earlier, the Israeli prime minister’s office and the Hostage and Missing Families Forum each released the names and ages of all 13 Israeli hostages released on the second day of a truce between Israel and Hamas Saturday.
“Their families were informed by the appointed officials that they are on their way to Israel. The Israeli government is committed to the return of all abductees and missing persons.”
As part of a Qatar-brokered truce, Friday saw the release of 13 Israeli hostages – and 39 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
More than 14,800 Palestinians, including 6,150 children, have been killed in Gaza since October 7. In Israel, the official death toll from Hamas’s attack stands at 1,200.
