DJ Jimmy Jatt, Omawumi, and Kelly Handsome for Afrobeats In America

Legendary disc jockey Jimmy Jatt,  Omawumi, Kelly Hansome, and Young Paris will lead the pack of Afrobeats stars at the maiden edition of the ‘Afrobeats In America‘ festival.

The ‘Afrobeats In America’ festival is a family-friendly event organised by Epic Media Enterprises, an entertainment company, which aims to celebrate black history month.

The event will open with a pre-party at the Z on 23 Rooftop on February 16 while the main festival kickstarts the following day at the Discovery Green.

The after-party is scheduled for Sunday, February 18, at the Z on 23 Rooftop.

The organisers, in a statement, announced that Kelly Hansome, Omawumi, and Young Paris will lead the pack of Afrobeats stars at the festival.

Others include Emma Nyra, Donna Adja, Kobi Jonz, and Morachi, Big Klef, Bils, Sudxn, Heph B, Duncan Daniel, Ajaeze, Isaac Geralds, T Bonny, Afrorolls, and Naira.

DJ Jimmy Jatt, alongside Moti Cakes and DJ Xpression, has also been named among the entertainers to thrill the attendees at the three-day festival.

Speaking on the event, Akpor Gbemre, the CEO of Epic Media and founder of the festival, said the event is aimed to promote Afrobeats as well as to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria on a global stage.

He also revealed that the organisation has reached out to other Afrobeats artistes to come for the festival.

“We took our time to carefully choose the artistes that will perform during the festival. I’m particularly happy that legendary DJ Jimmy Jatt will be with us at the festival; he’s a veteran in the industry. This is the first lineup we are releasing, but as time goes on, we will update you on other artistes coming on board.

“We are currently speaking with a couple of other artistes, who are interested in performing at the event; we will give details as soon as they are confirmed,” he said.

“It is going to be a perfect Valentine’s Day weekend in the United States. So, get ready for a day filled with infectious rhythms, electrifying performances, food, fashion show and non-stop dancing.

“Immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of Afrobeats, as talented artistes from around the world come together to showcase their incredible talent. From pulsating drums to soulful melodies, this festival promises an unforgettable experience that will have you moving to the beat,” he stated.
