The Federal Capital Territory High Court has adjourned till January 18, 2024, for the continuation of the case in the alleged procurement fraud suit against the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.
Emefiele stands accused of leveraging his position to grant an illicit advantage to Sa’adatu Yaro, a CBN staff member, by awarding a contract for 43 vehicles valued at N1.2 billion between 2018 and 2020.
Initially remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending a bail ruling on November 22, Emefiele was later granted bail by Justice Hamza Muazu in the amount of N300 million.
