The UK-based education consultant and author of ‘SCARS DO HEAL: A Young Child’s Battle For Survival’, Mr Kayode Joseph Akinropo has hinted to the reading world of his plan to release a sequel to the compelling novel.

Akinropo dropped the hint while thanking readers and fans of SCARS DO HEAL on his Facebook page on Monday as the Afrocentric novel clocked two years on Dec. 3, having been released on the 3rd of December, 2021.

He started his appreciation with a quote from Maya Angelou which goes thus: “When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young.”

Akinropo categorically described the book as a “successful novel”.

According to him, “Since its birth, it’s been making its mark! It’s in so many libraries in the UK! It’s been celebrated by people and organisations that know the value of reading! It’s travelled on air, land and sea! It’s been read by thousands of people and many thousands will still read it! It’s changed people’s opinions on some issues! It’s entertained people in the comfort of their homes! It’s added to people’s knowledge! It’s still making an advanced journey into some areas on this planet Earth.”

The English Language teacher, however, ascribed the success the book has attained to his Creator and the support of the people around him, his fans and the reading public.

“All these couldn’t have been possible without the blessing of our God Almighty, my publisher, editors, proofreaders, family, friends, organisations, knowledgeable sales representatives, capable advisers, supporters, advocators, and all of you out there. So, To God Be The Glory, and to you all, thanks,” the author wrote.

He appealed to the public, saying “Please, celebrate with me. Continue to buy, read, publicise and market it. The novel is loaded, educating and entertaining.”

“Also, don’t stop to send your pieces of advice and reviews to me as I try to write a sequel in 2024 by God’s grace.”
