A religious group, the Concerned Islamic Forum in Kano, has condemned the recent bombing of villagers celebrating Maulud at Tudun Biri village of Kaduna State by the drone of the Nigerian Army.

Though the Nigerian Army has claimed responsibility, explaining that the bombs were dumped in error, the Islamic Forum is demanding justice and compensation to the families of those killed and wounded during the tragic incident.

The Concerned Islamic Forum is made up of representatives of the Tijjanniya Qadiriya, Shiites and the Izala sects.

The spokesman of the Forum, Mallam Abubakar Rabo called on the Federal Government to ensure the arrest and prosecution of those behind the killings and to set up an independent investigation into the matter.

They advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take drastic actions that would repose the confidence of Nigerians in the Army and the Federal Government.

Mallam Rabo added that “nobody has the right to take another man’s life. It is highly condemnable. Every reasonable person must rise to fight against it.

“This is an organised country that has a constitution. The perpetrators of Kaduna killings should be fished out and dealt with, anybody who has grievances should approach the law rather than engage in the killing of fellow human beings.

“This act is condemnable and. We are tasking the Federal Government to rise up and curtail the senseless killing of innocent Nigerians.

” Allah is Allah of justice; He will judge everybody based on what he has done. I know our President is a lover of peace, he is not in support of killing of the people. I believe President Tinubu is the father of everybody in this country.”

According to him, “The killings negated the will of God. And if the Federal Government fails to do justice in the case, God has a way through which the perpetrators would be dealt with, so that it will go a long way in redeeming the image of the Federal Government.”

He further called on the Federal Government to set up a Committee that would conduct a transparent investigation that would be acceptable to Nigerians.

“The Federal Government should make the safety of the lives and property of the citizens a priority; because without adequate security, there can never be any Government,” he added.
