The Metropolitan Police on Tuesday said they have begun investigation into the murder of a 21-year-old man in Islington, United Kingdom.

The 21-year-old man whose name cannot be ascertained yet was reportedly stabbed to death during a fight in Islington.

The police were called at 19:27hrs on Monday, 11 December to reports of a fight on Tufnell Park Road, N7, according to the Metropolitan Police.

“Officers attended and found a 21-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service; despite the best efforts of medical staff he died there in the early hours of Tuesday, 12 December,” the Met Police said.

According to the police, his next of kin had been informed and were being supported by specially trained officers.

The police report that a 17-year-old male was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and taken to a north London police station where he remained.

“A crime remains in place at the location,” the police said, asking anyone with information to call them via 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC quoting reference CAD 6283/11Dec.

The Met Police added that people could also provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
